Migrating to Web Host Wizards
⚠️ Important: Changing nameservers or DNS records before migrating your website can cause website and email downtime. Web Host Wizards is not responsible for service interruptions caused by improper nameserver changes. Always ensure your site is migrated and your DNS records are backed up before updating nameservers.
Free Website Migrations (Recommended)
We provide free migrations for our customers. If you would like to make use of the free migration, you can open a migration ticket through the customer portal.
cPanel / Plesk Migrations
You can migrate over using the Website Importer
Note: If the website you wish to import already exists in the control panel, you will need to delete it first.
DIY Website Migrations
Migrate Guru WordPress Plugin
You can migrate over using the 'Migrate Guru' plugin
Manual Migration
You can manually migrate your WordPress website:
- Login to your current providers panel
- Zip Up your websites 'public_html' folder
- Export your websites database through 'phpmyadmin'
- Login to Web Host Wizards control panel, navigate to Websites > Files > public_html
- Upload the zipped up folder
- Unzip the folder, make sure all the files sit inside the 'public_html' folder.
- Create a new database in the control panel and import the database
- Amend the 'wp-config' file to the new database/password
Note: You could setup a staging site first, test everything is working, then push to live.
Domains/DNS
Once your website is migrated, you can change over the DNS records
Nameservers
Web Host Wizards default nameservers are
ns1.webhostwizards.net.au ns2.webhostwizards.net.au
Note: If handled incorrectly, changing nameservers can cause website and email downtime. Make sure you have a copy of your existing DNS records before making any changes.
IP Address
Network information such as the IP address can be found on the home page dashboard of every website. Control Panel > Websites > Select your website > Sroll down the homepage.
