Docs - WordPress Website Migration

If you follow the below instructions in exact order, you will be able to migrate your website over to us using the Migrate Guru plugin:

Step 1: Staging Site

1. Create a staging site in the web control panel.
2. Login to the new staging site's WordPress admin.
3. Install and activate the Migrate Guru plugin.
4. After activating the plugin, you will see the Migrate Guru menu in the WordPress dashboard on the left-hand side.
5. Click on the Migrate Guru menu.
6. At the bottom of this screen, you will see a dropdown toggle labeled "Migration Key." Copy/pase the the migration key somewhere safe or leave this tab open for the next steps.

Step 2: Current Live Website

1. Login to your current live website (the one you want to migrate).
2. Install and activate the Migrate Guru plugin.
3. After activating the plugin, you will see the Migrate Guru menu in the WordPress dashboard on the left-hand side.
4. Click on the Migrate Guru menu.
5. Enter your email, agree to the terms, and click the migrate button.
6. A list of web hosts will appear. Scroll to the bottom and click on "Other Hosts."
7. Enter the migration key from Step 1.
